On February 27, 2012 Navmar Applied Sciences Corporation dedicated their
primary Engineering laboratory in Ivyland, PA. as the Woody Metcalf
Engineering Facility. In attendance were dignitaries, coworkers and friends from NADC, NAVAIR
and Industry. The Metcalf family, led by Mrs. Patricia Metcalf,
expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the memorial dedication and
the participation by all.
Woody worked at NADC for over 30 years and at Navmar for 11 years, He
was an outstanding engineering technician with stellar professional,
personal and family attributes that left lasting impressions on everyone
whose life he touched. Memories of those qualities, with sprinkles of
humorous anectodes were poignantly recalled by speakers Chyau Shen,
Harry Koper, Fran Chamberlain and Franz Bohn. Keynote speaker, and
Navmar CEO, Tom Fenerty provided moving recollections of the many
positive experiences throughout their business association and lasting
friendship. The highlight of the dedication was the official ribbon
cutting ceremony, followed by the unveiling of the Woody Metcalf
Engineering Laboratory sign and the dedication of the Woody Metcalf
memorial plaque, with the following inscription:
